How do I make a transcription for my audio?

Updated over a month ago

Audio.com offers automatic transcription for spoken-word content (like interviews, podcasts, and audiobooks) on Pro and Premium plans. The feature uses built-in speech-to-text technology to convert your audio into readable text — perfect for accessibility, SEO, or creating show notes.

How to get a transcription

  1. Upload your audio file (MP3, WAV, or FLAC) to your Audio.com account

  2. Make sure you’re on a Pro or Premium subscription

  3. After uploading, open the track page

  4. If the file is eligible for transcription, you’ll see a “Transcription” tab

  5. The transcription will appear once processing is complete (usually within a few minutes)

Note: Transcriptions are only available for spoken-word content. If your file is music-only, the feature may not activate.

Supported languages

Currently, transcriptions work best for audio in English. Additional languages may be supported in the future.

Can I edit the transcription?

Not yet — but editable transcripts are planned. For now, you can copy and paste the text elsewhere if you want to make changes manually.

Privacy

Transcriptions follow your track’s visibility settings:

  • If the track is unlisted, the transcription is only visible via the direct link

  • If the track is public, the transcription will also be public
